Meet the Team

Solly Fulp

Executive Director | sfulp@berkeley.edu

Solly leads the strategic framework for campus-wide partnership collaboration and engagement. He works directly with campus stakeholders to identify and cultivate “industries of opportunity” while ensuring partnership opportunities are in alignment with the University’s values and mission of teaching, research, and public service. Solly also serves as  Faculty at the Haas School of Business. From his previous roles as Cal’s Deputy A.D. and COO of intercollegiate athletics, Solly brings extensive experience in securing new revenue and fostering strategic partnerships in both the public and private sectors. 

Solly received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Oregon, and his master's in educational administration and policy studies from California State University, Sacramento.

Amy GardnerAmy Gardner

In her role as director of project affairs, Amy oversees the request for proposal (RFP) process, contract development, and the department budget and finances. Additionally, she works directly with campus stakeholders and external organizations managing UPP category working groups and current partnership contracts.

Prior to joining UPP, Amy served as the director of corporate and community relations with the San Francisco Bowl Game Association where she was responsible for sponsorship development, event planning, game operations and bookkeeping. She graduated from UC Berkeley, California with a double major in psychology and economics and later received a master's degree in sport management from the University of San Francisco.

Anissa HagedornAnissa Hagedorn

Anissa serves as the activation and administrative coordinator for University Partnership Program. She acts as an intermediary between the business community and the University, providing activation and marketing support to UPP partners and campus stakeholders while tracking all sponsorship elements. Additionally, she assists Executive Director Solly Fulp and the rest of the UPP team with the coordination and execution of special projects.

Anissa graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor's degree in rhetoric and communication. She has over 12 years of experience in both marketing and management.

Amber HopkinsAmber Hopkins

As communications manager for the University Partnership Program, Amber is responsible for overseeing and implementing UPP’s strategic communications plan including the website, social media, public relations, marketing, publications, and presentations. She works as a direct liaison to match the interests and needs of external partners with the strengths of the University brand and campus stakeholders.

Prior to joining UC Berkeley, Amber worked as a communications coordinator at Texas A&M University for 10 years. She earned a bachelor of business administration in marketing from Texas A&M University.

Stacey TemplemanStacey Templeman

Senior Buyer & Sourcing Specialist,  Supply Chain Management

Stacey is a senior buyer and sourcing specialist for Supply Chain Management, bringing 10 years experience with UC Berkeley to develop end-to-end business partnerships across key commodities. Currently, Stacey assists UPP by managing the request for proposal (RFP) process, serving as a single point of contact for suppliers during the solicitation process. She also oversees the financial analysis of prospective commodities, analyzes financial proposals, and manages public records and conflict of interest.

Stacey is a Certified Professional in Supply Management® (CPSM®)  through the Institute for Supply Management and received her bachelor's from the University of California, Berkeley. She has over 20 years of experience in sourcing including experience in higher education purchasing, indirect sourcing, information technology, and global manufacturing.

Joe WatzJoe Watz

Joe founded the Marketing & Business Development unit at the Department of Recreational Sports in 2003. He leads a multi-generational team that is responsible for strategic partnerships, new revenue generation and audience engagement. As the director of campus relations for UPP, he identifies engagement strategies between the campus community and external partners. He is also instrumental in the development and execution of customized activations with campus stakeholders.

Prior to coming to UC Berkeley he held various international and domestic positions in the area of sports management, business development and marketing. He earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University.
