With state support down and campus enrollment numbers increasing across college campus’s, universities are now pursuing creative partnerships with companies to help offset costs. Among a handful of universities pioneering these broad relationships is UC Berkeley’s University Partnership Program (UPP).

UC Berkeley and Peet's Coffee, founded in 1966 in Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto, have agreed on a 10-year, $8 million partnership that will support the university’s commitment to enhancing the educational experience of UC Berkeley students while benefiting campus programming. Read the official annouce

What started as a proposal for the 2015 Big Ideas@Berkeley competition to address results from a 2014 Undergraduate Experience Survey administered at UC Berkeley, won the contest and would eventually lead to the launch of the Financial Literacy and Economic Justice Conference (Flejcon).

On Tuesday, March 28, the Cal Alumni Association (CAA) hosted their inaugural Alumnae Career Advancement panel. The event included a networking reception and panel discussion on the unique barriers to career advancement women face, particularly in male-dominated industries.

When one thinks of a college party, water bottles and hydration stations don’t exactly come to mind. University Health Services' (UHS) PartySafe@Cal, a student organization focused on improving party culture by reducing problems related to alcohol, is trying to change that perception with the help of  Berkeley’s recent UPP partner, Brita.

The University Partnership Program team and official campus partners, Sungevity and Bank of the West, participated in this year’s 30 Days of Gratitude series hosted by Recreational Sports. A set of community events were held between November 7-December 9 and included a social media challenge, the Do Something Good clothing drive, and a holiday-themed Family Dinner.

Launched in the summer of 2014, the UC Berkeley Food Pantry was created to provide emergency supplemental nutrition support to any university undergraduate or graduate students in need. Since opening, they have been visited over 5,000 times.

Beginning in July 2017, Under Armour will exclusively design and supply footwear, apparel and equipment for Cal Athletics as well as clothing for club sports, employ Berkeley student interns and graduates and give exclusive product discounts to campus departments. Under Armour and Berkeley also will collaborate on philanthropic and social responsibility programs.
