Increasing access to the #1 public university in the world and improving the student experience are high priorities for Berkeley. Our partnerships further these twin goals, with $559,748 in FY24 partnership funds going towards student scholarships, basic needs, and extracurricular experiences.
Scholarships
In FY24 UBPS partners stepped up in a big way for our young scholars, sending $267,315 in scholarships to the university, helping 15 students focus on school and their futures. This generous support from BMO and PepsiCo helps to keep Berkeley accessible while maintaining its overall excellence.
Basic Needs
More than $48,000 from BMO and Peet’s contributed to both the Center’s servicing of 25,000 visits to its food pantry, as well as the procurement of dry goods and hyper-local, Berkeley student-farmed produce for the pantry.
Beyond the Classroom
So much of the Berkeley experience takes place beyond the classroom. In FY24 our partners provided $237,436 in support of career development and extracurricular activities. These investments facilitated students’ exposure to, and preparation for, job and internship opportunities, as well as their ability to take the lead, and find community, in social change initiatives dedicated to clean energy, women’s empowerment, clean streets, and financial fortitude, among other key areas.
